Woodmansterne walk and bake for Greenfingers!
Ten of the team at Woodmansterne are joining forces this March to walk 10 miles each, raising money for Greenfingers, a national charity dedicated to supporting children who spend time in hospices around the UK. They do this by creating inspiring gardens for them and their families to relax in and benefit from, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation.
We’ll be supporting their upcoming ‘Garden Re-Leaf Day’ on Friday 24th March, not only by completing the 10 mile sponsored walk, but our top bakers will also be baking up a storm at our Watford and Milton Keynes sites to raise additional funds.
Since Garden Re-Leaf Day began in 2012, those taking part have raised a whopping £774,00,000 to help bring the precious gift of a garden to more life-limited children and families who spend time in hospices across the UK.
Like so many other charities, Greenfingers Charity saw a downturn in its income in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however their hospice waiting list grew ever longer as the therapeutic benefits of spending time outside and close to nature was recognised by the nation.
All those taking part in Garden Re-Leaf Day help them to ensure that thousands more life-limited children and their families who spend time in hospices across the UK can benefit from magical and inspiring outside spaces in 2022 and beyond.
