The humble greeting card
Tuesday, 30 January 2018
As we allow, through formulaic algorithms, to suck our online activity and process back to us self-edited content, our imaginations become less-and-less nourished and stimulated by the unexpected.
In contrast, when we choose a published greeting card, we pick someone else’s image to envelope our greetings and good wishes. In effect, we dress our ideas in someone else’s clothes. This adds a dimension to our message. It gives context and meaning to our words. It tickles the brain of the recipient and stimulates their emotional response.
…. and all for the price of a cappuccino!
